Guangdong Construction Polytechnic is the only public vocational college for Architecture in Guangdong Province. It is the cradle of "modern Luban" (Luban is a famous craftsman in the ancient China) and is the main base training high-quality technical talents in construction industry.

In the past 43 years, the school has taken root in southern Guangdong, serving the "Belt and Road", and has trained more than 200,000 high-quality skilled  technical talents, making positive contributions to the construction industry and the economic and social development of Guangdong Province.

The predecessor of the Polytechnic is called the Guangdong Provincial Construction Engineering Technical School, which was established in 1979; then Guangdong Provincial Construction Engineering School established in 1986; In May 2001, the school was approved by the People's Government of Guangdong Province and recorded by the Ministry of Education, and was upgraded to a vocational college. In April 2006, the administration of the Polytechnic was officially transferred from Guangdong Provincial Construction Engineering Group Co. Ltd. to the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education.

At present, there are two campuses of our Polytechnic, in Guangzhou and Qingyuan respectively, covering an area of nearly 1,000 acres in total, with more than 20,000 full-time vocational students. Located in the provincial vocational education base, the newer campus in Qingyuan was opened in October 2019. With mountains and rivers around, the campus enjoys a beautiful environment, holding its construction concept of "being a featured, cultural, smart and scenic campus", and thus it is an ideal place for learning to become talented.

Founded in 2016, our International School aims at international exchanges and cooperation and promotes the internationalization of vocational education in the Polytechnic. We actively serves the national "Belt and Road" construction and becomes a pilot institution for the "going out" of vocational education, leaded by the Ministry of Education in China. In cooperation with China Nonferrous Metals Group, we have gone overseas to carry out skill training classes for shelf workers, welders, computer and so on, as well as construction technology degree courses, which have been affirmed and praised by the Ministry of Education and China Nonferrous Metals Group. In 2019, the first overseas branch of our university, Zambian Luban College, was inaugurated, providing a localization talent guarantee for the construction industry for the development of Chinese enterprises in Zambia. It has won the titles of Top 50 Influential Vocational Colleges in the Asia-Pacific Region, Top 50 World Competitiveness of Chinese Vocational Colleges and Universities, and Advanced Collective of Foreign Exchange and Cooperation of Universities in Guangdong Province.

Our school has also carried out high-level mutual visits, teacher training, teacher-student exchanges, cooperative education and other cooperation projects with overseas institutions of higher learning and educational institutions such as New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom, France, the United States, Germany, South Korea, Poland, Finland, Hong Kong, etc. There are innovation and entrepreneurship research bases (New Zealand, Finland), Chinese and British modern apprenticeship research and training centers, etc.
